The worst part of being a trauma survivor is the loneliness and isolation. Trauma makes us feel like an alien. It makes us detach from ourselves, other people, and the world.

While working on your recovery, you need support - a lot of it. You need to be in contact with other trauma survivors who understand your journey.

For this reason Thrive created the Peer Support Project.

There is no charge for participation in this group. It’s part of Thrive’s Pay-It-Forward Program. You do not have to be a coaching client to participate.

Vetting: Once you sign up, you will receive an email asking you some basic questions about your background and trauma experience. Your responses allow us to make sure the group remains a safe space where support can be given and received. Be sure to include your time zone in your response.

How: The Peer Support Project meets via video conference on Zoom. You do not have to download Zoom software. You just click on the link you receive via email, and it opens up a window in your browser. You type in your handle/name and click “enter”.

When: Each week, we will email the link to the Peer Support Project’s video conference. The conference will be open for an hour. Members can see each other face to face, share their stories, their successes and difficulties in recovery, and get the support and understanding that they need to heal. You can participate via any device that has wifi and a browser - cell phone, tablet or laptop/desktop computer.

Trolling and Confidentiality: Understand that Thrive’s Peer Support Group Project is intended to be a safe space for survivors.

Thrive reserves the right to exclude any participant from the group who breaks the confidentiality rule, or who engages in abusive, trolling, violent or threatening behavior or shows up for group under the influence.

The group is confidential. It’s like Vegas….what is said in peer support group stays in peer support group. Confidentiality ensures participants can be authentic - and safe.
